Pasig city sports league 2023 kicks off with enthusiasm
Despite the relentless downpour, the much-anticipated Opening Ceremony of the Pasig City Sports League 2023 successfully took place at the Pasig City Sports Center last Saturday, July 29, 2023.
Gathered at the event were representatives from 30 barangays in Pasig, proudly led by their respective Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Chairpersons. Athletes from men's and women's volleyball teams, as well as men's volleyball teams, showcased their passion for sports and competitive spirit as they geared up to vie for victory in this year's league.
The Pasig City Sports League 2023 commenced with the symbolic lighting of the ceremonial torch, a tradition that signifies the commencement of sporting events. Despite the challenging weather, the participants' enthusiasm and determination to make the league a success remained unwavering.
Mayor Vico Sotto graced the event alongside members of the 11th Sangguniang Panlungsod, showing their unwavering support for the city's vibrant youth and sports development programs.
The Pasig City Sports League 2023 forms part of the grand festivities for the city's 450th Founding Anniversary, celebrating the rich history and dynamic culture of Pasig. Moreover, the league is a cornerstone of the month-long Linggo ng Kabataan celebration, a special tribute to the youth of Pasig.
Behind the success of the Pasig City Sports League 2023 is the Local Youth Development Office, working hand in hand with the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation. Their joint efforts have made this sporting event possible, providing a platform for young athletes to showcase their talents and sportsmanship.
