Pasig mayor gives cash to outstanding graduates
Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto distributed cash incentives to 110 college students who graduated with honors.
Those who graduated summa cum laude received P30,000; magna cum laude, P25,000; and cum laude, P20,000.
In a Facebook post, Sotto said he is hoping that the cash incentive will motivate the next batches of students to study harder.
He also assured parents and students that changes are coming to the city government’s scholarship program.
“For the next batches of scholars & parents, we have been listening to the feedback and we are making some big changes to expand the scholarship, but also to reduce unnecessary costs for the students,” Sotto said.
