Mayor Vico Sotto Promotes Community Engagement and Family Values
Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto delivered a heartfelt address during a recent gathering, touching on various significant topics and initiatives that resonate with the community.
At the beginning of his speech, Mayor Vico expressed his appreciation for the City Government officials, departments, personnel, and representatives of national government agencies who attended the event. He extended greetings to the host offices for the week's gathering, the Human Resource Development Office and the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.
Mayor Vico then emphasized the importance of patience and a welcoming attitude among HRDO employees, especially those involved in frontline services. He encouraged them, particularly those who interact directly with residents, to maintain a patient demeanor and wear a friendly smile.
The Mayor moved on to commend the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) for its proactive efforts, which included the distribution of 28 high-quality fire trucks to barangays. He highlighted that these fire trucks were acquired at an excellent price, under PHP6 million per unit, which already includes equipment that goes beyond the standard.
These vehicles were tailored to the specific needs of firefighters and responders. He also revealed that 27 patient transport vehicles (ambulances) would be distributed within the year, further enhancing emergency response capabilities.
Acknowledging the presence of the Office on Social Welfare and Development, Mayor Vico shared news of the suspension of government work starting at 3:00 PM on September 25, 2023. This suspension is in observance of the Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga day, in connection with the celebration of the 31st National Filipino Family Week from September 25-29, 2023.
He urged everyone to take time and spend quality moments with their families. Mayor Vico highlighted that the City Government of Pasig has recently institutionalized the celebration of National Filipino Family Week and has prepared week-long activities to honor this occasion.
