Pasig City inspected some 20,000 tablets which will be distributed to public school students, as part of the city's initiatives amid the shift to distance learning.

In a social media post, Mayor Vico Sotto said the city government is now preparing the first batch of newly arrived learning devices procured by the city government for the blended and distance learning modality.

Sotto tasked an inspection team from the city hall to ensure the quality of the items before the distribution period scheduled on October 1.

Apart from this, the city government has already started disseminating learning packets to the city's Special Children Educational Institution.

The city government has earlier built internet centers with high-speed computer network access to support the 'new normal' education setup in the city.

Meanwhile, the city government said its daycare centers are still accepting enrollees until September 30.

Interested parents or guardians who wish to enroll their kids in the daycare centers should submit the following documents: child's birth certificate, guardian's cedula, and guardian's voter’s certificate/identification card (voter's ID) or proof of voter's registration.

Residents can submit the requirements in the nearest daycare centers in their area and look for the teacher in charge of the enrollment process.

Meanwhile, the city government reiterated its call to residents not to be complacent despite the decreasing cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in the city.

"Sa kabila ng pagbaba ng active cases ng Covid-19 sa ating siyudad nitong mga nakaraang araw, hindi pa rin tayo dapat maging kampante lalo pa na hindi pa naman tuluyang nawawala ang banta ng virus (Despite the decrease in the active cases of Covid-19 in our city in recent days, we should not be complacent since the threat of the virus has not yet completely disappeared)," the city government said.
