The proposed Aerocity will feature wide boulevards with landscaping, greenery, and dedicated lanes for mass transportation, biking, active frontages, and pedestrian walkways. It will also feature buildings interconnected by skywalks, and ideally would generate more access and connectivity between buildings and increase more floor area for safe and comfortable urban designed public spaces. The skywalks can potentially become micro-solar farms, using renewable energy to power street lights and other urban design fixtures that contribute to pedestrian comfort and safety.

Pasig City Vice Mayor Iyo Bernardo is auctioning his sneakers and some items donated by his friends to raise funds to buy food packs for frontliners and Pasigueños suffering from cancer, diabetes, and other ailments.

The vice mayor, who is a sneaker aficionado, recently started the “Sneakers and Other Valuables Auction for a Cause to Fight COVID-19” auction on his social media page.

Among the items being auctioned off were a pair of red boots and shoes donated by presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, jerseys of basketball legends Allan Caidic and Jerry Codiñera, and a signed t-shirt of volleyball star Bea De Leon.

The Pasig official has also put up for auction several pairs of sneakers from his personal collection.

“Ang malilikom po natin ay ibibili ng food packs para sa ating mga frontliners, cancer patients, Sweet Diabetic Club of Pasig beneficiaries, Angelic Heart of Pasig beneficiaries, kidney patients, mga may kapansanan sa pandinig, at sa ating mga kababayang nangangailangan ng tulong (The amount we will raise will be used to buy food packs for our frontliners, cancer patients, Sweet Diabetic Club of Pasig beneficiaries, Angelic Heart of Pasig beneficiaries, kidney patients, those with hearing impairment, and our constituents in need),” Bernardo’s office wrote in a Facebook post.

“We are inviting everyone who wants to donate for auction their sneakers, sports memorabilia, and other items. Marami po kayong matutulungan (You can help a lot of people),” the post added.

Aside from shoes and sports memorabilia, Bernardo has also placed his Kawasaki Vulcan S 650cc motorcycle on the auction block, which has a starting price of P300,000.

To make the deal sweeter, the vice mayor has offered a free AVG motorcycle helmet and a pair of LeBron James sneakers to go with the motorcycle.

The bidding for the motorcycle will end on Aug. 31, while the auction for the sneakers and sports memorabilia will be closed on Aug. 21.
