Pasig distributes learning devices to students

Pasig City turned over to the Department of Education learning devices which will be utilized by the students and even teachers in the city so that they can adapt to the blended learning scheme amid the pandemic, according to a report by GMA News.

Mayor Vico Sotto said the city government allotted P1.2 billion for the procurement of gadgets such as laptops and tablets.

"Nakita natin kaagad na medyo mabigat, malaki-laking pondo ang kailangan nating ilaan kung sakaling bibili tayo ng mga devices para sa ating mga mag-aaral," Sotto said.

"Binasag natin ang mga alkansya natin para makabuo ng P1.2 billion para sa learning devices ng ating mag-aaral," he added.

Sotto said the laptops will be given to teachers in Pasig City who still do not have laptops for teaching purposes. He added that they are also for science high school students in the city.

Meanwhile, tablets worth P6,000 each will be given to elementary students while those priced at P7,000 will be provided to high school students, according to Sotto.

The mayor said software will also be provided by the local government.
