Mayor Vico shares tips on good governance
Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto’s progressive leadership has attracted the attention of leaders in the provinces of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, who visited him on Wednesday, May 25, to learn about the progress the city has achieved and the keys to good governance, according to a report by Manila Bulletin.
Art Mercado, the newly-elected mayor of San Pedro City, Laguna, shared in a social media post his enlightening meeting with Sotto at the Pasig City Hall.
“For the past 3 years, nakita nating lahat ang malaking pagbabago sa bayan ng Pasig. Mula sa kanilang policies and programs, implementation ng mga social services, transparency & governance, at lalo na sa pandemic response. Ito yung gusto ko sanang matutunan at madala natin sa ating bayan (For the past 3 years, we’ve seen the big changes in Pasig City. From their policies and programs, implementation of social services, transparency and governance, especially on pandemic response. This is what I want to learn and bring to our town),” Mercado said.
Prior to the campaign period, Mercado said he also visited Sotto in March to seek advice on how to enact improvements in his city.
Mercado added that there are plenty of programs from Pasig City that he wished to copy and implement in San Pedro City.
He also met with Atty. Jeron Manzanero, the city administrator of Pasig.
