The local government of Muntinlupa, through the Muntinlupa City COVID-19 Vaccination Program (MunCoVac), has announced that the city already administered a total of 507,964 vaccines and has inoculated nearly half of the target population as of September 8.

MunCoVac posted in its Facebook page that 49.9% of the target residents have been fully vaccinated, “only a 0.1% shy to being halfway towards achieving herd immunity.” This translates to 192,360 individuals to have received the required total number of doses.

Further, 319,963 individuals have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine or 83% of the target. Of the total number of individuals vaccinated, at least 11,404 (first dose) and 597 (second dose) were inoculated in Muntinlupa private companies.

“Please make your vaccination schedule a priority. We are doing our best to schedule you daily and at the soonest possible time as we monitor and wait for vaccine deliveries,” MunCoVac said.

The local government also advised residents who registered online but haven’t received their schedule to fill out a form to be scheduled: https://forms.gle/fEAELhwxURe4aNZU8.

City residents are encouraged to register online through the city’s COVID-19 vaccination registration system via www.vaccine.muntinlupacity.gov.ph/muncovac.

The Muntinlupa City Health Office is set to reinforce its contact tracing efforts as part of the local prevent-detect-isolate-treat-reintegrate (PDITR) strategy.

Muntinlupa CHO contact tracing manager Dr. Carol Magalong said that the city hired additional contact tracers to augment the surveillance and monitoring of COVID-19 cases in the communities.

Magalong reported that new and existing contact tracers have undergone training on comprehensive history taking to the 3rd degree and other innovations on contact tracing. She added that coordination with the barangay and local police on contact tracing activities will also be strengthened.

The local contact tracing manager noted that most of the transmission observed by the contact tracers transpired among members of one household, in the workplace, and public transportation.

Mayor Jaime Fresnedi urges city residents to exercise extra caution at home especially with the alarming spike of COVID-19 cases in the communities.

“Muntinlupeño, there’s a protector in all of us. Let’s all do our part. Lumabas lamang kung talagang kinakailangan. At kung may lumalabas man sa kasama natin sa bahay, mas mabuting mag-mask kahit nasa loob ng tahanan at iwasan muna ang kumain nang sabay-sabay. Dagdagan natin ang pag-iingat dahil walang pinipili ang virus—kamag-anak man, kaibigan o kakilala, ” Fresnedi said.

Muntinlupa CHO also eyes to implement home lockdowns reinforcing City Ordinance 2020-106 or the Mandatory Quarantine Ordinance.

Under the local ordinance, all COVID-19 cases including asymptomatic, mild, probable, suspected cases, and close contacts are mandated to undergo quarantine at home or in the city’s isolation facilities if requirements for home quarantine are not met as certified by CHO.

Residents violating the local ordinance will face P3,000 penalty for first offense, P5,000 for second offense, and a maximum of one year imprisonment upon discretion of the court and P5,000 penalty for the third and succeeding offenses.

As of September 8, Muntinlupa City has 22,008 confirmed cases with 19,036 recoveries, 2,496 active cases, 476 reported deaths, 12 suspect cases, and 3,955 probable cases.
